Hello Canadian Online Retailers,

This is Michael LeBlanc from The Shopping Channel in Toronto. I am writing this blog post to encourage any Canadian online retailers to mark May 19 on their calendars. This is the day of the very first Shop.org event in Canada. Shop.org will be hosting a networking dinner in downtown Toronto.

I have been involved with Shop.org as a member and an attendee at their events for more than 10 years. I am excited to have Shop.org bring together the online retail leaders in Toronto (anyone for a West coast event next?) and I hope you will join me at this event.

The rest of this blog is for Canadian online retailers only – U.S. online retailers, please stop reading at this point.

My fellow Canadians – we all know that Canada is where the “real” online retailing takes place in North America. For too long, we have abdicated the online retail crown to our neighbors to the south. While the beginning of my blog politely described the importance of this dinner, my true intent is for this dinner to be the first in a series of initiatives aimed at bringing back the title of online retail champion to Canada where it rightfully belongs. It will look very nice next to the 2010 Olympic ice hockey gold medal!

Please be sure to register as soon as possible before space runs out.

I look forward to seeing you in Toronto in a few weeks.
