Holiday 2009: Holiday Sales Flash Survey series launches today

Many of you are familiar with the Online Sales Flash Surveys that we’ve conducted quarterly this year, in conjunction with our partner, Forrester Research.  We actually launched this one-question survey series exactly one year ago, in response to requests from retailers for an idea of how the industry overall was faring, given a distressingly tepid start to the 2008 holiday season.

Much like last year, this holiday season we’re conducting this survey twice – first this week (starting today, Tuesday) and then again around December 21.  We ask retailers simply how gross online sales grew for the month of November 2009, compared to the same period last year (including Cyber Monday, which last year happened to fall on December 1).  If you are a retailer, we need just 60 seconds of your time to (anonymously!) answer the one main question about sales growth, add in any optional comments about November / holiday sales to date, and answer two quick questions about company type and size so we can segment the aggregated results.

As always, please let me know if you would like to participate in the survey, for any reason don’t receive an email invitation to participate by end of day today, and/or have any questions about this gauge of how our industry is faring.  This survey (60 seconds or less, remember) closes within a matter of days so we can rapidly report our findings to everyone right here via the Shop.org blog. Many thanks for your support!
