Shop.org recognizes that this holiday season, more than ever before, its retail members are facing an uncertain Q4 and are busier than ever searching for every possible angle to boost sales. I thought I would take a moment to outline some of the initiatives Shop.org has underway to help its members during these challenging times.
First, we have extended the early registration deadline for our upcoming 2009 Strategy and Innovation Forum, scheduled for February 2-4, all the way until January 9, 2009. This will allow our members to remain focused on the holiday season through its completion. Today, I sent note to all Shop.org retail members explaining this decision.
Secondly, we have added a new Webinar called 14+ Specific Things You Can Do To Make More Money Next Week (and Improve Your Holiday Sales) available at no charge to Shop.org members. It’s scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, November 12). It’s not to late to register. However, if you are unable to view the live Webinar, replays will be available on the Shop.org Web site shortly after it concludes (UPDATE: the replay is now available). Speaking of Webinars, Shop.org members can watch a free replay of the NRF Webinar from last week entitled, Weathering the Perfect Storm: What to Expect from Holiday Shoppers and What You Can Do About It.
Third, we have made reams of holiday research available for our members, all of which can be found in our Holiday Resource Center.
Fourth, we are leveraging our authority and PR might to generate as much as excitement as we can for Cyber Monday, a term coined by Shop.org for the Monday after Thanksgiving and the ceremonial kick-off to the onine holiday shopping season. We’ve made a variety of opportunities for PR and on Cybermonday.com available to members.
Last, we are soliciting ideas from our retail members on what more we can do to help their businesses via an online survey. We hope to collect some ideas that we can begin implementing immediately.
If you have more ideas for how Shop.org can help the industry during this challenging and uncertain economic period, please feel free to drop me a line or write a comment on the blog.
