Widgets, Widgets everywhere
We’ve put together a very basic widget for the Discovery Channel Store. I’m curious what folks have planned for the holiday season, in terms of extending their brand to other sites. Any thoughts?

One trend that we’re seeing is the increased use of “save for later” functionality to help companies extend their brands and products beyond their own sites. Most retailers already allow customers to save shopping cart information within their own site, but this takes it one step further and allows customers to save online information in a variety of formats for later use, such as SMS, PDFs, Email or Social Bookmarks.
This is particularly useful for tracking user intent when there’s latency in conversion. Just because a customer doesn’t convert right away doesn’t mean they are not interested in your products and services, so giving them the ability to save information in their preferred electronic format lets them come back to your products when they’re ready to buy. This could also be an effective delivery method for electronic coupons codes should you want to capture cross-channel activity.
